NY-29: Massa Part Deux
Eric Massa, the 2006 Democratic candidate for the New York 29th district is running again in 2008.
Massa came ever so close to unseating freshman Randy Kuhl in New York's most Republican district, located in the Southern Tier along the Pennsylvania border between the Finger Lakes and the Buffalo Metro area.
Massa scored 48% against Kuhl in 2006, winning the southern suburbs of Rochester (the most densely populated part of the district,) but losing everywhere else.
What are Massa's chances in a second round? Well, it depends on the political situation of the country in 2008 and who the Presidential candidates are. A strong Republican will do well here and may save Kuhl, but another weak Republican year may push Massa over the top.
Still, the GOP is going to have to pour money here, and they don't need to be pouring money into New York.
