Military Chief: I’m a Bigot, therefore Bigotry is OK

Peter Pace says homosexuality is immoral, and because the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is the king of all things moral and righteous, he must be correct.

As efforts continue to end the gay purge in America, it is not helped by the comments of the highest ranking military officer in the country. General Pace effectively likened homosexuality to adultery and pretty much said homosexuals have no place fighting for their country. Says Pace,

"I do not believe that the armed forces are well served by saying through our policies that it's OK to be immoral in any way, not just with regards to homosexual acts"

Homosexuality and adultery is immoral, but they overlook torture, abuse and other crimes of war. I think it is entirely clear the reasons why the military feels the need to purge homosexuals. One reason is the same reason why they didn’t let women in combat until recently; testosterone. The military teaches men to be manly and tough, which is great because they fight bravely and they fight fabulously, but it has an undesired consequence on some, it makes them chauvinistic and conceded; they look down on those seem as less manly and tough as them, such as women and homosexuals. They can’t keep women out of the military, but they can keep the gays out by doing exactly what the bigots in the church do, use The Bible. Since The Bible says homosexuality is wrong, it’s not MY opinion it is GOD’s. Ergo, I am not the bigot, God is. That’s the defense they give.

The other reason is fear. Again their fear defended by The Bible. It is men afraid that either they will be forced into homosexual acts with their gay comrades, or will figure out that they themselves are homosexual (a fact they may have been hiding for fear of looking weak.) Since the stigma is homosexuality is like femininity, and being female is being weak, soldiers do not want to look weak.

The extraordinary ignorance that surrounds the military’s IMMORAL decision to keep brave courageous and loyal homosexuals out of service to their country makes us, as Americans, look ignorant. The Service members Legal Defense Group, the leading advocacy group for gay and lesbian soldiers estimates that there are 65,000+ soldiers in the military, many fighting for their lives over in Iraq. Scores of gay (closeted gay) soldiers were killed in battle, and the head of the military supports these soldiers by calling them immoral? It is IMMORAL for us to stand idly by and watch the military once again persecute a certain group of Americans. It is IMMORAL for us to stand idly by while dozens of Arabic speaking translators are fired, at a time when they are necessary, just because they are homosexual. It is IMMORAL to turn away openly gay Americans who, for some ungodly reason, wish to fight in Iraq. It is IIMMORAL to attack these brave and loyal American citizens for being who they are.

I’ll say it before, and knowing this administration, I’ll say it again; THE GAY PURGE MUST STOP!
