How Long Before the GOP cracks?

The moderate anti-war Republican up for reelection next year in the state where the Iraq war is about as popular as a root canal is betting the farm that if no progress is seen in Iraq by the time General Petreaus goes to Congress in September, the Republicans will buck the President and side with the Democrats to end the war.

After all, President Bush is the only Republican who doesn't have to face the angry, disappointed, Iraq fatigued voting population next November.
