You're Not Religious Enough To Speak Here

Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri) has been uninvited from speaking at the graduation of her daughter from a Catholic high school in suburban St. Louis...the reasoning? She's a pro-choice, pro-stem cell research Senator.

McCaskill, who defeated a Republican incumbent in 2006, largely on the issue of stem-cell research, was asked by STUDENTS to speak at the graduation. The school decided otherwise after being pressured by the St. Louis Archdiocese.

Once again, they cannot put past them the fact that this country has a separation of church and state. They are looking for politicians to be theocrats, to enforce their beliefs on the rest of society.

Senator McCaskill does not do that, it doesn't make her a bad Catholic or a bad role model, it just makes her a secular politician. In America, we do that, we don't give our politicians a religious litmus test.
